Directions: Drive up I-95 North past Augusta and Waterville. Take Exit 133 for "Fairfild, Skowhegan, Province of Quebec". Turn right at bottom of exit ramp onto Route 201 Nroth. Continue on Route 201 North for 60 miles through the towns of Skowhegan, Solon, Bingham, Moscow, and Caratunk. Look for our large blue sign "Inn By the River" on right side of the road. If you travel over the Kennebec River bridge, you have gone 1/2 mile too far.

Inn By The River is nestled on a bluff over the Kennebec River in The Forks, Maine, which is the heart of outdoor recreation in Maine. Whitewater rafting, canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting, leaf peeping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, X-country skiing are all enjoyed locally by the guests of the Inn. Whitewater Rafting Trips are available daily from the Inn through P&S Rafting.

The hospitality of the Inn begins with 10 spacious guestrooms all complete with full private baths. Six of the guestrooms have whirlpool tubs in the private baths and small-screened porches. Rooms are decorated in a charming country style and have either a king or queen or double and a twin bed. A complete country breakfast is included in your room rate. A separate 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and bath that sleeps up to 12 people is also available. A wonderful cottage, with kitchen and bath, located on the western shores of beautiful Moosehead Lake , sleeps up to 10 is available for weekly rentals.

On special evenings we offer select entrees and complete dinner in our dining room. Reservations are accepted. The Inn's pub is available every evening for your enjoyment. You may enjoy relaxing in front of the stone fireplace in the first floor Great Room or sitting out on the porch watching the boats float by in the summer time. TV,VCR, and reading material are available in our library for your enjoyment.
